The Church Fathers used Classical Hellenistic Philosophy in distilled form to interpret the Bible and engage in theology. To understand the Bible without great seeking and great perseverance in inquiry and faith it is necessary to know their writings. Otherwise, we will be influenced by other spirits and forms of thought, mental constructs and concepts from other religions, eras, flawed sciences, and the modern world.
