Why does law enforcement or the executive branch require a check in the system of checks and balances - not mere theory but embedded in the rules of the constitution, its system of law making, choice making, and election? Why does the legislative branch require the judicial branch to check itself? And finally why does the judicial branch require the check of the executive branch in its power to nominate its justices? There are multiple rules in place for each branch to check or to exercise authority over the others. It is because humans are suspect to oppressive power hungry behaviors and errors. So then, it is clear that to side with only one branch leads to chaos, for it is clearly implicit in the law itself. In order to create change, one cannot rely on one branch of government, but rather engage with all three for to trust one is antithetical to the law, which requires us to rely on all three with the system of checks and balances in tact.
