We believe that others are somewhat like us, but what we do not see is the deep defilement within their inner selves that is only apparent by outward conduct to the ignorant eye. There are deep evils within and very dark wrongs that men do commit, and we look at them and give them a respect they do not deserve, not only strangers but also politicians. We regard them as being like us at least with regards to global character traits, such as common understandings of right conduct in private or in public; however, these could be and often are entirely lacking in the other. There are men who we regard like any other, we have a category in our minds of “that type” perhaps being normal in some regards, lacking in others, and proficient in some, when they are in fact warped in their minds and actions in ways that are unimaginably alien to your own.
