Positivity is not new, it is older than we are. It is a contemporary word that is tied to the reality that life is good, that God is love.

There is no pain insurmountable and even in mourning we are comforted, in our weeping we find the sweetest treasure, the presence of Christ.

Hope, hope is a better word. It is the looking onward to that which can never die, never fail, a future fixed and immovable, sturdier than mountains. It is not our task to make sure it works out, it is our task to make sure we make it, for the future is certain, yet ours not so much. Will you make it to the promised land? Be certain and pray, love, and give, in your heart be formed as Christ’s, until you live in the suffering for others, and rejoice at even the slightest beauty, the slightest glimpse of love, the smallest gesture, the most unnoticeable treasures.
