Many do not believe in history, when it is the source of all imitation, of all power. To harken to the past is one thing, to imitate it is another. When we have the world in conflict, nations fighting wars and failing to make agreements that last. It is Roosevelt, and it is Woodrow Wilson, who buckled on their belts in the morning and made the world turn around. America is a history of ideals, and when they are realized, history peers through the time. It is in these moments of quiet appreciation for certain world rulers that I see the beauty of the past. It is filled with memories and solutions and peace, and when we draw from its resources in our decisions, behavior, imitation, and choices, we may bring the peace of God and the ideals of history back where they belong, in the present.

Let us do so, and draw from Jesus Christ and the saints. For our history is far greater than the history and ideals of this world. It is the stories dating back to our father Abraham to Noah, from Moses to Elijah, from Jesus Christ to Mesrop Mashtots, and from St. Krikor to St. Nersess, and to those who live in holiness today, that ought to inspire all.
