A war of attrition is often not a war of the more enduring heart, the strongest will, but a war of sex. Beware of the safety of your children, your women, for these wars begin and end in the bloody bodies of its women, in the secret of sexual assault and rape, not of its men. Generations hence a child now will ask then, What happened when the bullets and missiles ceased, when the men laid down their arms? What happened to the heart that so endures?
This ugly side of war is never seen in the news nor even by competing militants, but in the homes and lives of the civilians, internationally, not simply domestically.
