The stars in the heavens are made to create a gripping longing in our hearts towards the eternal. If we could only see as our ancestors saw, we would wish this moment to be drawn and pulled mightily upwards where God is and dwells, to be united with him completely and fully in body as well as in spirit, this all being an effect of mere gazing and not of prayer.

What a marvel it must have been to see the sky as our ancestors saw, the fullness of the heavens exposed, yet now hidden from our sight, only twinkling lights effecting our mind ever so slightly, we may turn our ears to his words and seek him, and we may turn inward and find him in secret, lest we find a mountaintop and behold for merely three minutes, making the progress of three hours of prayer.
