Four Pillars of Infinite Love
We know by faith that God is love, and based upon this truth the four pillar stand to support humanity, all created beings, the cosmos, and you today.
God’s love is infinite, he is infinite love
God’s love is unconditional
God loves everyone, no matter what
God loves eternally
The following is an explanation of the Four Pillars of Infinite Love
1. God’s love is infinite, he is infinite love
God is infinite by definition, for he is defined most simply as the first cause of all existence and creation, and being the first cause of all existence and creation, there is nothing to measure his greatness, vastness, his nature, and attributes, for whatever can encompass God and measure God would in fact be the true God.
We know by faith that God is love, though below we see that the truth that God is love can be derived from the basis of him being the first cause.
If God is love, then his love must be infinite as well.
2. God’s love is unconditional
God either loves conditionally or unconditionally.
If God loves conditionally, then God cannot be said to love at all for love is unconditional by its very definition.
God loves, therefore his love is unconditional.
3. God loves everyone, no matter what
God either loves everyone or selectively.
If God loves selectively, then there is a limit on both the unconditionality of his love and his infinity. For there would be a reason not to love some people based on their character and other traits, tendencies, or acts. Further, in being finite his unconditional love would not expand to include all people.
This reduces God by necessity to that which is finite and his love conditional, leading to contradiction.
God cannot be said to be finite or to love conditionally as he is infinite by definition and love is unconditional by definition.
As discovered earlier, God loves unconditionally and is infinite, therefore he loves everyone and not selectively. For loving unconditionally, no reason can bring him not to love any individual person, and being infinite, his love expands to include humanity.
4. God loves eternally
God is eternal by definition, for in being the First Cause, he has no beginning.
If God has no beginning then he is outside of time altogether, having no end as well, making him eternal.
Therefore being love itself, his love must also be eternal.
A Proof: God is Infinite Love
Above, we noted that we know by faith that God is love. Nonetheless, we can derive that God is love based on the definition of God as the first cause of existence and of creation. We were able to derive God's infinity based on this definition above. First, we must see that there is love in God and that this love is infinite. Humans possess love, therefore God must possess love being the first cause of all things. Whatever quality there is in creation, in humanity, it finds its cause and source in God. But why is it infinite? Whatever quality God possesses, he has the maximum of that quality - the quality being infinite just as his being is infinite. Further, why does not God simply have love, being loving, while not being love itself? Some have phrased it in the following way, saying that God's existence is the same as his nature and his attributes - making love what he is, as well as his goodness. This is explained further below, as to why his existence and nature are one by necessity. Some might say in objection that if God is the source and cause of all things in creation, then he is also the cause of evil attributes in humans. However, if God has an attribute, it must be positive, as a negative attribute would require this negative attribute to be infinite in him, just as love is infinite in God, making God internally corrupt in an instant and cease to exist if it were in him. The evil would in fact be him, and would also be infinite. And evil being that which brings to nothing, would bring God to nothing, which leads to a contradiction. God cannot then be evil or he would cease to exist. To clarify further regarding the reason why God possesses love infinitely, we see that no created being caused by God can have more of a quality than he has, just as a rolling ball that hits and causes another ball to move also always has more force than the ball that is impacted and second or subsequent to it. So then, whatever qualities that humans possess, even the best, God has as well to a greater degree, even infinitely - that quality or attribute being love. If God possesses love, then he has infinite love because his attributes are infinite as well, which are one with his infinite existence, as noted. Therefore, to reiterate, if love is an attirbute of God, being an attribute and ability of man as well, though imperfect in man, then God's love is infinite since every attribute he possesses is infinite. Lastly, as stated before, God is not separate from his love or any quality or attribute he possesses, for there would be division in God, separating his nature from his existence, which is impossible, for God has no division as created things do and he cannot be infinite if there is division in him. It is a limitation, demanding he be finite, which he is not.
