Reading or listening to your own works is not like eating from the fruit of your own tree. In fact, even if it were, this is actually commanded in the Bible. The farmer deserves the firstfruit of the crops. It is the way to keep the original flame of the words alive, with its spirits and virtues, its intent and meaning. If the artist ascends to heaven, it is from there he will rejuvenate what first emanated from his soul and heart while alive.
