The sacrament of sacraments, communion, the Eucharist, is about eating. Imagine, the highest act within church, is not entering, it is not kissing one another, it is consuming the life giving body of Christ unto eternal life upon reception. It seems that eating is essential to our lives, having an importance that is supernatural.
Is it not possible that everything we ate had some level of significance not only on our bodily health but on our spiritual health as well? Not to say that eating vegetables will grant you eternal life as the bread of life does, however, one can’t help but merely point out that eating is essential to our lives in ways that are mystical, spiritual, impacting our excellence in virtue and our excelling in happiness.
