To bend the cosmos to our will, to dominate every element and planet in our solar system with the right hand of technology, to create a world where none existed before: is this desirable to the human? A world where technology is used in such a way so as to enhance life and overreach a star, rather than stifle humanity’s progress? It is so. Yet, if it is not, then is it the fear and awe of progress that makes the heart tremble, or the consequence of enhanced war?

In the end, humanity’s struggle is a matter of survival and to survive in this galaxy, on this earth of limited goods and natural resources, we must conquer it, turn it, bend it to our wills, so that we may rest, without war, without struggle, and sing, rejoice, dance, love, marvel, and continue to learn and to discover.

Or rather, may we find the simplicity of living without great energy usage our bliss and find refuge in the salvation of spirituality, freedom from much expenditure, consumption, and greed? Or rather will it be the presiding governments that legally stifle the expansion of human potential through technology?

Time will tell, and it will tell us rather quickly if oblivion in technological war or the paradise of peace and conquest over the elements will be in our frontier.
