It is not a coincidence that St. David has as his famous statue, not one of a crown on a throne, for he committed adultery, and while exulted both on earth and in heaven was deprived of earthly glories as his son, rather than himself, was assigned the duty and grace of constructing the temple of Israel. It is a great display of his prowess and strength. He is a saint and was so but never honored as such in humanity’s art and historical structures. He is a great saint and deserves our reverence for he is the Psalmist of the Scriptures and had the depths of mystical experience. However, as a teaching, consequences of our sins may be unknown to us and span thousands of years.
