Some imagine holiness to be beyond righteousness, in that it is a virtue that surpasses all, a different paradigm. In a sense, this is true. However, to embody a form of holiness that is not built upon righteousness is counterfeit. Holiness does not permit behavior that is unrighteous. I would rather practice righteousness for years than seek and pursue a holiness devoid of that righteousness, for failing to do so makes a man think he can surpass simple morality and righteous behavior.
Be righteous, be righteous for years, defend the weak, the needy, the wronged, the violated, against the violence and abuse of oppressors and evil men, their cruelty. Be the one that hides the defenseless behind his shield, be the one who fights against the enemies of love with an iron sword, a golden heart.
