There once was a boy, who asked God one thing, kneeling in his bed looking upon the stars, Can I have a friend, to be with me always, like you Father, but someone I may even marry one day?
Yes, my son, said the Father.
The boy grew old, and looked upon all that others possessed seeing them as nothing before his one request. Not knowing his companion promised to him had died nearly 50 years ago.
And he asked God, I asked of you one thing and I have not received it, why haven’t you heard my plea, my beloved Father, for I love you so dearly and only wished this one thing.
My son, said the Father, your friend, your eternal love, your virgin wife is by my side. We have been waiting long years for your coming to my kingdom. Come and sit beside me on your dying day, and behold the beauty and friendship and love of your beloved.
