Love is the most powerful force amongst all, stronger than death many have said. For in embracing those who harm us, we do not incite a war against that which is loved, but only love. For love transcends the dimensions of human relations. It is of God, who is above all, through all, and in all. Love defeats death, not your enemy, who is to be loved. And in loving him,, he is held captive to the judgement of God, not your own. Look at Jesus, having loved the Pharisee, crying out still for those who harm him to receive forgiveness from God rather than this judgement. This love does not seek to defeat anything, and that is why it does. Not by me, nor by you, but by its very transcendence of all that can be conceived or imagined, visible and invisible.
Yet, some turning to the cross see the end of love: death. However, dying in the name of love, in the name of Christ is not a sadness, nor a cause for mourning, nor a cause for fear, for perfect love does away with such things, but joy unspeakable and entrance into life everlasting. Jesus himself endured the cross, and though beholding the weeping of his mother, he beheld one more thing, the joy set before him, giving him the endurance to defeat the greatest enemy, death.
