It is likely that the greatest saints remained unknown to humanity, their names forgotten. For to remember a saint as one requires a stroke of heavenly love upon earth, which often is not granted or even feasible. The list is inexhaustible, for saints who are unrecognized, praying in secret as commanded by Christ, is in fact the natural way God rewards for spiritual struggle, not with accolades on earth, but with recognition before God.
