A man near the end of his days, having had little of his own desires, but much of doing God’s will, what is right, and avoiding what is wrong, sought what he truly needed to ascend to heaven well on his last day.
And he prayed, Lord I need one thing, and one thing only, the kiss of a holy virgin upon my cheek and her loving gaze before I ascend to heaven, then I may rest and enter your gates in peace.
This was enough to satisfy fully the longings of his soul. Such are the hearts of the chaste, the holy, and the innocent.
