Islam is the taking of what is someone else’s and making it your own while leaving traces of its conquest. Islam is taking someone’s home and adjusting it enough to erase the grandeur and identity of those who built it and dwelt in it - while maintaining it as a symbol of conquest over the other. Almost every mosque is a former church. It is Islamic DNA to do so. And many now, of this descent practice this by second nature without knowing. It is the absence of history, it is the absence of substance, and the stealing and the vandalism of holy sanctuaries and places.
