Make my body like bronze,

that can take the heat of the kiln, its fires and its flames, the beating of the steel and iron hammer upon anvil,

that is as malleable so as with each strike surviving and sustaining composure and substance,

to endure the decay of time for ages to come,

to fight in the slaughter war, like shield to bear the arrows that strike, like sword to pierce and protect in the prowess of battle,

yes, make me like bronze so that I may be as invincible as the elements that comprise it and the earthen dust which yields it.

Make my body like bronze and my heart as bright as the newborn stars,

That can illuminate in their youth the darkest pit,

In newness of life the deepest chasms,

That can shine stronger than any other in fearsome light,

That can outdo any other in pride of life,

That can dissipate the evils of this world by its existence,

That can do away with all chaos by its expansive embrace,

That can destroy all powers that may taunt by its exultation and by ever growing praise.

Make my body like bronze,

so that I may in ever burning love carry within my heart the youth of a newborn star

to become the heat of an aging sun,

to die and dissipate not as any mortal man but as one to grasp the immortal state,

to be beaten, unbroken, and remembered as bronze, but to be made eternal and immortal, invincible, and forever as a star.
