The great governments of this world frequently fail, they stumble, they deceive, they fall short. Like a cripple, they walk through darkened streets and roads and with their rod beat everything in their sight and clumsily fall in a drunken stupor. However, in the power of the idealism on which they stand, the ideal of human betterment, of support, of building a just society, where humans may flourish, achieve, and conquer the elements, there are moments when a light shines, the light of a common effort, where many men and women may in unity of vision, under the guidance of the just, bring about a solution impossible otherwise. To the extent this happens is questionable, however, when it does, we may stand and in wonder think, “Wow, what an amazing world we live in.”
