We think that man can love more than God, yet God is a lover, the greatest, the one who chases you down and never stops his pursuit. In sin and in darkness we grovel and we moan, thinking this or that pleasing to our appetites and desires. His mind is set on us without ceasing, in haste to find us and to hold us and embrace us. It is his heaven to have us, and it brings him tears to be with us at last. And as a man star struck for the first time, he sees us and in awe and in desperation strides and leaps towards us. My love for my one and only is great, and it is mine and mine only, yet his love for her the greatest, for it is he and he only whose love of endless pursuit enflames the infinity of love within my heart, his infinity. When my love and his meet in union, infinity is found in these eyes that behold my beloved who by her essence and core are as breath to my body, life to my being, music to my ears, sweetness to my taste, light to my eyes, true love to my soul.
Yet, even sometimes, somehow, having seen this great love, the infinite love of God, I may surpass it, loving my soul's beloved, seen within her sins, more than even the Lord who made her, who remains resolute in waiting for the return of his sinful daughter.
