In the depths of sin, lost and without hope, there is, at the bottom of the pit, a cross and nothing beyond it.

Lying upon the ground, dusty and aged, in the deepest place, is the crucifix, for Christ descended into the deepest and darkest place and there he suffered, he loved, and he died.

There is nothing that goes further than this, the sign, the cross. For nothing may encompass love or continue deeper still than the love of Jesus Christ.

So, when you are lost and without hope, hope yet still, for the cross has gone farther and deeper into darkness than sin.

Pick up the cross, laying upon the ground, and place it upon your chest, knowing this, that those who die shall live, that those who fall may rise, for those who sin may seek forgiveness in faith and receive in abundance the righteousness of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
