Passed down from generation to generation are the encoding of the nucleic acids that comprise the living substance of humans, what gives them biological life. These nucleic acids are comprised of elements that are essential for life: Carbon, Hydrogen, Oxygen, and Nitrogen, with the addition of freshwater, sunlight, and the basic photosynthetic organisms such as algae. These elements are in fact what comprise DNA, with the additive components to ensure the flourishing of life. Not only is our DNA the encoding of our ancestors. It is also our source of life biologically. They are one, and rejuvenated by an environment that is rich and life giving.

Infused with the Spirit of God, with the presence of Christ, we may receive transformed DNA in prayer and in the reception of divine light. Being sons of God is a spiritual and bodily truth, lest it remain a metaphor. However, our bodies may be filled with the Spirit, and our hearts be a place for Jesus Christ to live. The truth of our being born of God is a reflection of the reality of our actual and real union with God. This transforms us into the likeness of Christ not only in our spirit, but in our bodies and acts and words. Spiritual experience illuminates and transforms and touches the body, the mind, and not merely the soul.

Penetrate the depths of contemplation and prayer and see that the light of heaven shines not only spiritually but into the heart of everyone worthy of it.
