Do not be so swift as to take up your cross and obey the commandments. For what does Jesus Christ say to his disciples? Count the cost!
So, when you commit your life to obedience without taking time to see what it takes, to have true faith - do not be shocked when your faithlessness and the half filled oil lit lamp runs dry, and you are left without the rewards of chastity and commitment.
Guard your heart, but count the cost, and take up your cross.
