Perhaps the United States is too young a nation to have the depths of nationalism within its soul, if it has one, as other ancient nations do. Though there are elements of this great and existential and biologically engrained pride in the nation, however much one may try, he will find nothing but temporal, ephemeral, and short lasting feelings of American ideals and virtues, its true roots being found not in common DNA but in shared values from the founding fathers and the historical greats building upon their principles thereafter. Even the white Anglo Saxon finds that his DNA is rooted not in this land but in another far across the Atlantic called England, the United Kingdom.

It has yet to reach that ancient quality of other states and countries. Though it does have shared camaraderie, values, and a common dream that inspires, it has not the shared DNA and bloodline that other nations and countries have. Over 98% percent of proud, white, self identifying Americans are of European descent.

Perhaps the predominant nationality within the United States will prevail and this will define its nationalism for ages to come.
