The manifestation of beauty and archetypal imagery, as in the deployment of real historically embedded, rather primordial themes and dynamics and personalities that touch the human heart, is a sign of the kingdom of heaven and its advancement in society. The medieval age was not dark, but filled with light, where normality, its dullness, was ignored, and chivalry, heroism, beauty, prowess, and victory took its place - images of great warriors, clothing to give justice to men’s courage, and religious imagery that captivated the heart, elevating it unto the the beauties and glories of heaven, of God, of Christ and the saints.

In an age of great suffering, there was great beauty giving hope and a way into eternity with a glance upward, the sight of a holy soldier, the statues that arrayed the city, the words that give reason to endure.
