Some imagine that we must destroy all things evil so that all things may be heavenly with no exception. However, what defeats evil most decisively is not a war between opposing forces of much power, but rather a flower rising from the dirt, from the grave, or a gaze into the eternities above. A sigh and a smile surrounded by the greatest evils, encamped and spears pointed to strike, is more a victory than the other, and more similar to Christ’s victory over the armies of Hell than the image of forces of equal power fighting unto death.
Even then, it will be as a sigh and a smile. For God is Almighty, holy, and victorious, seeing all things from now to eternity.
