The wrong against St. Stephen is immeasurable. Not to be killed and buried amongst compatriots or friends, not to be slain before fellow believers, not to have his mother weeping before his dead body, but to be killed, to be stoned, by all. Surrounded by sheer hatred at God and Jesus Christ, he took the greatest pain of all.
No one was beside St. Stephen when he was murdered, yet, looking up, gazing to the clouds was Jesus Christ, glorifying his name from that moment unto eternity, forever and ever.
