The Rarity of an Illumined Conscience
Some have a sense of right in its essential nature only once or twice in their life, others more, some frequently, few constantly. This comes from an encounter with God or rather the awakening of the conscience through God, giving tears, contrition, grievance, shame, or guilt.
When we seize this moment, our lives may become transformed into the likeness of Christ, beginning spiritual life as a Christian newly born, or returning to our faith and to the will of God having abandoned him for years, days, or hours.
