The first light from heaven into the heart of man is conscience.
If I practice one thing, through that, I may attain all things. Archery, swordsmanship, the arts, sculpting, writing, running, athletics, and prayer: all of these may be mastered, but none of them indestructible.
For, when I bend the bow, I can be struck back. When I strike my enemies, they may cause my blood to be shed. When I create, sculpt, write, it may be destroyed, forgotten, stolen. When I run, become an athlete, I may get lost, get captured, my body destroyed. When I pray, I may be watched, no longer in secret, my gifts stolen, and lost.
Though, in following my conscience, I become invincible.
Let us master this art, and leave the others for conscience to orchestrate. For in mastering only this, this one gift, we master all things.
